Wm. David Tobin, Director
Wm. David Tobin joined Carlton in 1994 and is currently the firm's Director of Loan Sales.  In addition, he originates and executes transactions for Carlton's Investment Sales and Finance divisions.  David brings considerable real estate and loan asset analytics and portfolio asset management expertise to the firm, having played an integral role in the liquidation of the $1.2 billion non-performing loan and REO portfolio of the Dime Savings Bank of New York.  The Dime disposition program included a multi-year asset-by-asset sellout culminating in a $300 million bulk offering to many of the major portfolio investors in the investment banking arena. 
David's primary function is to head all business execution and development activities for the firm with respect to secondary marketing of performing, non-performing and sub-performing commercial and residential loan portfolios.  In addition, he has developed the proprietary loan sale due diligence software currently in use throughout the firm.  David has managed over $750 million in loan sales for such clients as Freddie Mac, Republic Bank, Atlantic Bank, Ocwen Federal, Fidelity Federal, Amresco and many other financial institutions.
David originates commercial mortgage banking and investment sales transactions for the firm, having recently arranged whole loan sales for Daiwa Securities ($179 million) and Banc One Mortgage Capital Markets ($35 million) and financing for such notable projects as the Thompson Street Hotel ($20 million) and the Newark Airport Hilton ($22.5 million).  David was Carlton's deal manager for the Greystone portfolio sale (3 properties - 1.6 million of Downtown Manhattan office buildings) and also represents Texaco-Star Enterprise on the sale of surplus real estate and petroleum terminal assets throughout the country and as a site selector. 
David has a B.A. from Syracuse University and is a candidate for his MBA in banking and finance at New York University's Stern School of Business.
